Bushings are also called sleeve bearings. Bushing bearings are plain bearings or general bearings. Unlike the rolling action of a ball bearing or roller bearings bushing (sleeve) bearings has a sliding action. They are usually found in applications that use rotating or sliding parts. Bushings are generally lubricated (greased) to ensure smooth continuous operation. The resulting low coefficient of friction reduces heat and provides excellent wear resistance. Such instances of rattling do not occur by using it in all types of applications. PTFE is a self-lubricating material alternative to the steel sleeve bearings and doesn’t need external lubricants like grease or oil.
